On Sunday evening (17/2) the hard explosion sound occurred in the east parking area of Senayan, Jakarta, during the second debate of the 2019 presidential election at the Sultan's hotel. Presumably, the explosion was caused by an object such as a firecracker thrown by someone from a white car.

Based on the videos from cctv, the white car initially stopped at the median road near the east parking area of Senayan, and the car was approached by someone. However, not long ago, from behind of the car came an explosion and instantly white smoke was soaring 3 meters high. Suddenly all of people in the location panicked and ran to save themselves.The explosion also caused several car alarms parked around the location were ringing while the white car looked still intact. But, the explosion didn’t cause casualties.
Gegana team has combed the explosion location, it was done to find the explosion source. Near the source, there were pieces of glass like crystals, grasses were also removed from the roots, on the streets also scattered land. 
The explosion was under a tree on the roadside of the east parking area. The regional chief of police (kapolda metro jaya) Irjen Gatot along with his staff have been doing crime scene at the location. From the result, he ensured that the explosion was from firecracker. 

He said “it was firecracker, during the time from witness. We looked at the cctv on there”. Now, police was investigating the offenders who put the object. At that time, the road of the explosion has already been opened and the police line has been removed.
