a wonderful hidden paradise AT Sedayu village

Gulingan waterfall is located in Sandi hamlet, Sedayu village, Grobogan sub-district, Grobogan district, Central Java.

This waterfall is very beautiful and has not been widely known to the wider community. The waterfall was originating from three sources of springs with an altitude of about 300-500 meters above sea level and it was visited after many visitors took pictures and uploaded them to social media networks such as Facebook and Instagram since the beginning of 2015. 

Nobody knows exactly the name of the Gulingan originated. Residents say this because the area is on the Gulingan hill. It is said that Gulingan waterfall used as a place for ascetics of several figures from the outside of Grobogan area. 

Now, because of many people have been visiting this place, the villagers has turned it into a tourist attraction independently. To get to the location, the visitors must travel about 16 km from Purwodadi, the center of the city. You can access by motorcycle about 4 km and have to walk about 1 km to get to the location. The terrain that was passed is good enough and not too uphill. Teak forests and shady trees are located along the route. Visitors should only pay two thousands rupiah for parking and two thousands more rupiah for the entrance. Later, the funds will be used to repair facilities and infrastructures. 

Beside of being a tourist spot, some visitors also often use the Gulingan waterfall for camping, training for nature lovers, canyoneering, photo hunting, prewedding photos and offroad sports. 

“This destination place is very useful for local residents, they can sell food and drink around this place. At weekend this place was very crowded visited by local and outside visitors, the income was managed by Pokdarwis Semar, a community of local residents. But, this destination is not maximally developed yet.” said Muhammad Saputra (21) a young man of Sedayu village. 

Now, Gulingan waterfall has been developing by the government maximally and Sedayu village will be made as a tourism village.
